Year in Review – 2022

Hello everyone it’s that time again when we step into a new year with some new hopes and ideas.

While planning for the new year let’s not also forget to take a quick look at all the ups and downs of 2022. For me personally, 2022 has been quite an exciting year, and here are some of the impactful events for me in 2022:

  • Student to Software Engineer: On January 3rd I joined rtCamp as a Software Engineering Intern. There I spend a good time with my fellow interns and learned a lot of new and interesting things. In July I became a full-time Software Engineer at rtCamp. It’s been an awesome journey till now and hopes to continue the same.✨
  • Freedom to learn: One of the important updates which is a side-effect of the above point is that I got enough time to dedicate some time to learn other things which I wanted to learn as a hobby. I am quite grateful to have had such a wonderful time learning the things I wanted to with a free mind. Below I will list down a list of things to learn in my checklist for the next year.
  • Have some free time: As rtCamp is a fully remote company and has a great flexible work schedule, so I really had the opportunity to spend a good amount of time with family and friends.
  • Final goodbye to college hostel: In July our college reopened for 4th-year students. And so we had to travel back to college to spend some part of the 7th semester in the college. And then around 3 months during October, I traveled back to my hometown saying a final goodbye to my college hostel.

So, that’s a short yet memorable list of mine for 2022.

Now let’s quickly jot down the topics I “wish” to accomplish in 2023:

  • Complete computer setup script: Organizing my workstation and completing my computer setup script has been on my list for a long time. So, it’s finally time to complete this at the highest priority next year. You can check the about page for a short description of the project.
  • Get a lot organized: I am currently not very good at organizing my work properly. So, that’s also one of the tasks that’s on my high-priority list to get organized and fall into a proper routine.
  • Graphics programming: Graphics programming has been on my checklist since I started exploring Unity because of my Game Development hobby. I personally have been not a fan of mathematics, but Graphic programming is the only place where I find mathematics to be somewhat interesting to explore. And have played video games myself I have been really a fan of all the Graphics ( some examples are interactive snow and grasses ), and I really am curious to explore how those are programmed.
  • Low-level networking: Knowing stuff from scratch is a thing I always prefer to do. And same applies here. I m daily working with web technologies day and night, but I am really curious to know about how these data packets are actually created and transmitted over the web. For this, I have to move to low-level programming languages at least to C, starting from creating a basic socket connection to creating some complex system, that’s a long way to go. I don’t target to achieve some great heights in this topic next year only, but I want to at least kickstart the journey.

And that’s it. Let’s wrap up 2022🎉 and start 2023 with new hopes and enthusiasm🚀✨.

Thanks for reading.👋
