My Last Blog at rtCamp

“I would love to see you write more.”
Compliments like this have been a big source of motivation for me to keep writing. While I haven’t always managed to write every month, those kind words sparked something in me – a habit of writing that I’ve grown to enjoy and hope to carry forward.

These encouraging words came from some of my amazing colleagues – my “good people” – at rtCamp, my very first company.

As of April 6, 2025 (the day I started writing this blog), I’ve spent 3 years and 3 months at rtCamp (yes, what a nice little coincidence!). It’s been a journey full of learning, exciting projects, and genuinely awesome experiences. But now, it’s time for a new chapter…

A little history before continuing

If you don’t want to hear me yapping about how I got into rtCamp and some sweet little stories, feel free to skip to the next part. 🙂

It was November 2021 – peak COVID times. Mayukh and I were in full-on study mode for our 5th-semester end-of-semester exams (because, like most of us, we were cramming the entire syllabus in a few days – iykyk). Suddenly, he mentioned that he got a circular about a company named rtCamp hiring for a WordPress Engineering Trainee role. But at that moment, passing the exam felt way more urgent than getting a job 😅, so we got back to studying.

Fast forward to after the exams – I was, as usual, super bored. I came across that circular again. I wasn’t as smart or well-prepared as today’s students, but some terms in the job description felt familiar – HTML, CSS, JS… basically web development.

There was an assignment …. I did it. A quiz …. I solved it. Then I waited. And boom, a few days later, an interview was scheduled. The interview happened one afternoon in late December, and later that night, I got the mail:
“I would first like to share that you have been selected for the WordPress Engineer (Trainee) position. Congratulations! 🤗”

That’s how it all started – my journey at rtCamp began on January 3rd, 2022 as an intern.

And today, on April 6th, 2025, working as a Senior Software Engineer at rtCamp, I’ve finally decided it’s time to take the next step in my career.

But before we get to that, here’s a montage of the last three years –

Next steps..

As they say, “change is the law of life,” and it’s now time for me to step into a new world and take on new challenges.

Although it was a tough goodbye, with a heavy heart, I sent in my official resignation letter on April 2nd. After a few calls, it became official – I step out of rtCamp on May 30th.

I’m not revealing too much about my next adventure just yet, but here’s a little sneak peek – I’ll be joining the incredibly talented team behind some of the most loved WordPress plugins like UpdraftPlus, WP-Optimize, and All-In-One Security – yes, the amazing TeamUpdraft! 🎉

I’ll share more details in the coming days.
